Chris Howe

Chris has been living and working in Somerset for many years, painting mainly in watercolours but also producing work using pastel and pen and ink. He employs bold brush strokes and a limited palette to produce paintings which a uniquely fresh and atmospheric tone. His main inspiration comes from the countryside around his home but also enjoys walking and painting in mountain scenery.

The class is suitable for beginners and also experienced painters alike. Starting with looking at wet into wet techniques everyone will be able to produce beautiful landscape paintings of the surrounding countryside. You will develop these skills and also explore the use of watercolours with other media such as granulating fluid, inks, salt and even cling film. The classes are designed to be fun and friendly, learning in a relaxed atmosphere but with lots of step by step help when needed.

Chris exhibits successfully in Somerset and Devon, where he has an enthusiastic following, and teaches watercolour techniques in many classes across Exmoor including all three National Park Centres.
